The #EndSARS movement in Nigeria, which aimed to end police brutality and systemic injustice, saw a significant involvement of artists who used their platforms to advocate for change. Here’s a list of notable Nigerian artists who actively participated in protests and showed their patriotism through their actions;

1. Burna Boy

Burna Boy emerged as a leading voice during the #EndSARS protests. He not only used his music to raise awareness but also participated in the demonstrations. His song 20.10.20, released shortly after the Lekki Toll Gate massacre, captures the emotions and experiences of the protests, making him a prominent figure in the movement.

2. Tiwa Savage

3. Falz

Falz, a rapper and actor, has been a consistent advocate for social justice. He was also the main catalyst behind the #EndSARS one year car procession.

4. DJ Switch

DJ Switch became a prominent figure during the #EndSARS protests when she live-streamed the events at the Lekki Toll Gate, documenting the violence and chaos as it unfolded. Her bravery in sharing the truth garnered international attention and showcased the importance of digital activism in the fight for justice. Till now she is reportedly in asylum.

5. Timi Dakolo

Timi Dakolo, a renowned singer, also joined the protests, performing his song Great Nation to inspire and uplift protesters. He also shared multiple posts and messages concerning the protests. His music has always carried messages of hope and unity, and his participation in the protests showcased his commitment to advocating for a better Nigeria.
