TX Review; “Rock” by Olamide Is The Final Proof That Baddo Is Invested In Growth & New Ideologies

REVIEW – Olamide is an artiste of remarkable Versatility and his music Growth can’t be overlooked on the new song, ‘ROCK’… STREAM HERE

The Multi-Talented artiste premiered ‘ROCK‘ on the 14th of May, 2021, Olamide dished out this new song with a simple, fun dance filled visual and Fans Review of it has moved it Top.

After listening to this masterpiece three digital staffs of Tooxclusive took to their keypads to share their thoughts about Rapper Olamide’s new found music home.

OLAMIDE – “ROCK” REVIEW

I think that for the first time in Olamide’s decade long career, he’s finally making music on auto pilot. He’s finally catching a vibe without seeking street validation.

Even though loads of people are gonna chuck this up to Fireboy’s influence, I strongly believe that much of the transition is a result of Baddo’s realization that the game is now “longer than Alaba Market”.

Not to undermine Fireboy’s immense contribution, which we can clearly see in the sudden switch from Olamide’s usual charisma-infused annual rubbish to an album that keeps better every time you listen to it.

It’s however genuinely mind blowing that Olamide has always been putting young-in’s on right from his first album but the vibe on the last was different and a definite change in career trajectory and I strongly believe that Rock is a testament that his next album will finally show us the direction of his newfound growth spurt.

“Girl I just want make we rock, Girl I just want make we vibe…”

Baddo sounds impeccable on calypso-infused records and I think he’s struck gold with this one. Rock is a perfect sample of what I call “Afrobeats 2+2”… (Other samples are; Olakira’s Maserati, Tekno’s Pana, Davido’s IF, among a few others).

It’s a song with the potential to fly on its own, the sound is calm and the lyrics are in accord with the progression of the average Naija male-female night club interaction. Olamide has ample time to sugar coat his baby and still deliver an impressive show of camaraderie between him and his musicianship on this sweet track.

As an average Nigerian, you will listen to Rock while you’re lighting that early evening Canadian loud, sipping a bottle of freezing Budweiser, taking a slow dance with the live of your life, having slow, teeth-biting sexual intercourse, fantasizing about your dreams, and to be very honest even if your thing is pumping tires; it’ll still fly cause at some point the energy in all human body wanes and we all need some positive, soothing vibe to cool off.

It’s a delicious body of work, and I really appreciate Olamide for taking the time to hone his craftsmanship at a career point when most of his counterparts would rather give up and pay more attention to other profitable business interests.

Writer Eniola Has This To Say;

While expecting his 12th studio album, “Uy Scuti” slated to be dropped on the 14th of June, Olamide Adedeji gives his fans something light to water down their thirst with his latest single “Rock“.

Personally, I do feel like Rock is a feel-good song and has a quite unique vibe to it. Following the release of his 11th studio album “Carpe Diem“, the YBNL boss made us realize that he still has a lot more to offer as a rapper, despite being in the game for over a decade. I’ll give his consistency game a 5 out of 5.

On this Eskeez produced track, some similarities in tune could be sensed and linked to his 2018 single with Wizkid, “Kana”, produced by Legendury Beatz, which is something artists need to keep in check. Overall, the versatility of “Rock” would earn it a 4 out of 5.

And Finally

Olamide has proven again why he’s one of the best in the Nigerian Music industry with his new jam “Rock”.

This song comes with a chilled vibe and it’s very easy to flow with. It’s not the regular jumpy song, neither is it too calm. He understood the assignment for giving a chilled vibe.

This style of music isn’t far fetched from the kind of music Olamide has done before, so it’s not strange or new to me. I absolutely like his versatility when it comes to doing music and big kudus to him.
