Davido reveals he and Chioma are pausing childbearing

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has shared that he and his wife, Chioma, are taking a break from having more children to allow her the time and space to focus on her business plans.

Speaking during a recent episode of Ride Along With Darryl, Davido explained that, after welcoming three children, he feels his wife, Chioma deserves time to focus on her career and business ventures. “I don’t want more children now. Me and my wife are taking a break. She needs to get out to work. She wants to do a lot of things like opening her restaurant and launching her spices. I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having 3 kids,” Davido said.

The couple, who welcomed twins in 2023 after the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, are now shifting focus to Chioma's budding business ambitions. The singer added that Chioma is spending more time abroad as she prepares to launch her spices line, with plans to introduce the products to major stores worldwide, including in both Africa and the diaspora.

Chioma is also eyeing the opening of a restaurant, marking the beginning of what promises to be an exciting entrepreneurial journey. According to Davido, Chioma’s food is “amazing,” and the couple is eager to see her spices line become a global success.
