Lamine Yamal sets 2 new records at EURO 2024

Spain forward Lamine Yamal is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down as the youngster set two new records at the Euro 2024.

Barcelona and Spain forward Lamine Yamal made history by starting in Spain’s first game against Croatia in the Euro 2024 tournament, becoming the first 16-year-old to play at a men's European Championship.

At just 16 years and 338 days old, Yamal made his eighth appearance for Spain and delivered an assist for the third goal scored by Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal.

This assist also made Yamal the youngest player ever to record an assist at the Euros, continuing his streak of record-breaking performances.

In Spain’s Group B opener against Croatia, Yamal played over 80 minutes and contributed significantly to Spain's 3-0 victory.

The goals were scored by Spain’s captain Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz, and Dani Carvajal, with all three goals coming in the first half. Fans eagerly anticipate Yamal's continued impact, hoping he can help lead Spain to victory in the Euro 2024 tournament.

Yamal's rise to prominence began last September during the Euro 2024 qualifiers, where he became Spain’s youngest player and goalscorer on his debut against Georgia.

His club career with Barcelona has been equally impressive; he has made 51 appearances and scored 7 goals since debuting as Barcelona’s youngest player at the age of 15.

Among his numerous achievements, Yamal is the youngest La Liga goalscorer and the youngest player to start a Champions League game.
