The Premier League is known for spending mega money on footballers whenever the transfer window opens, with Moises Caicedo becoming the league’s most expensive player in history .

Chelsea broke the British transfer record to sign Ecuadorian midfielder, Moises Caicedo from Brighton for a fee of £110 million during the 2023 summer transfer window.

Chelsea Football Club broke the current transfer fee for the most expensive player in the history of the English Premier League by signing Caicedo for £115 million on an eight-year deal. The Blues are understood to have paid an initial £100m, plus £15m in performance-related add-ons.

There is an option of a further year in Caicedo's contract and Brighton will have a sell-on clause that has been described as "significant" as part of the deal.
