'There is no Afro-rave without Afrobeats' - Rema opens up on starting the Afro-rave sound

Rema has opened up on how he pioneered the Afro-rave sound and how Afrobeats was important in creating this new style of music.

Calm Down crooner, Rema has opened up on how he created the Afro-rave sound highlighting the role of Afrobeats in making such a sound happen.

Rema during his interview with Hot 97 an American radio station spoke about how Afrobeats is the mother tree to other Afro sounds out of the continent and that his style which is called the Afro-rave is how he sees or views Afrobeats.

He acknowledges the fact that he developed a distinct style which is called the Afro-rave highlighting that many had not believed in the sound at first but he is very happy people are consuming this sound now.

“AfroRave is my own perception of Afrobeats but there is no AfroRave without Afrobeats, Afrobeats is the mother tree”.
